As we continue through the book of Acts, enemies to the Gospel are persecuting Christians and endeavoring to hinder the spread of the Gospel, but the work of the Holy Spirit will not be deterred. He sends out Paul and Barnabas on the first missionary journey. Though Paul is stoned, the people of Lystra thought Paul and Barnabas were gods, and Jews followed the missionaries to stir up trouble, many people were saved, the church was built up, and the “disciples were continually filled with joy”.
